Our smile literally moves us internally; our hearts are touched, our personalities shift, and we are healed in some small but significant way.
But most curiously, this tiny smile is not insignificant on a spiritual level either. This most simple human action, the everyday action of a smile, generates the most immense effects.
Our smile, seen by others or not, opens up the portals of our real selves, the sacred doorways of God’s power and might through which gush the celestial grace-power that is ever available to us, but which so many times we are indifferently or inadvertently unaware of.
Even the most diminutive and common smile touches the innermost and tender parts of our inner core; it transforms us with the energy of heaven – that intangible place called our soul.
When I smile, I align myself with
the divine power in me.
Smiling helps me “center” on God’s presence in me.
Smiling helps me embrace that, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,” refers to me and to everyone as representatives of Christ.
Smiling sends an internal message from God that travels on the unseen and unknown spiritual communication lines within me.
The message tells me that I am first and foremost a “child of God” – not just a “child of the world.” This ever new, and yet ever ancient identity is the truth of my soul.
Smiling helps me pull back from the frantic seeking of the world, and the fearful grasping of my ego and to center me instead on the presence of God within.
A smile can brighten the darkest day.
